Owen Wilson will not be receiving many father of the year votes.
According to US Weekly, the actor has yet to make contact with his newborn daughter Lyla Aranya Wilson almost a month after she was born. The publication quotes a source as saying that Wilson, 49, “refuses to meet his daughter.”
“He even checked the no visitation box in court in June … He does not want to visit (and does not) want any custody of her,” the source said.
Varunie Vongsvirates, who dated Wilson for nearly five years, gave birth to Lyla on Oct. 9, and shortly after posted a picture of her on Instagram.
“My sweet little princess,” Vongsvirates captioned the post.
Wilson did not have contact with Vongsvirates during her pregnancy. The source said she told Owens she was expecting four weeks into her pregnancy following their vacation in Hawaii.
A representative for Wilson told US Weekly, “This is a private matter and it’s not appropriate to comment further.”
In June, Wilson took a paternity test, which said that “the alleged father is not excluded as the biological father of the fetus.”
Lyla is Wilson’s third child. He is also father to sons Robert, 7, and Finn, 4, from previous relationships.
“Owen has been a great father to his boys and has maintained a warm and close relationship with their mothers,” a source previously told Us Weekly. “Of course, if a paternity test establishes that he is the father of another child, he will fulfill all of his obligations to support his child.”
