Nike Air Force
Air Force 1 line unveiled in 1982. The shoe was initially promoted by six players: Moses Malone, Bobby Jones, Michael Cooper, Mychal Thompson, Jamaal Wilkes and Calvin Natt.
Nike has released more than 1,700 versions of Air Force.
Malone and such power players as Charles Barkley and Alonzo Mourning have worn them, strengthening their reputation as a shoe for centers and power forwards.
The best-known NBA star who still regularly wears Air Force is Rasheed Wallace.
Last month, Nike introduced its “Second Coming” TV commercial promoting the Air Force 25. The NBA players featured in the spot include LeBron James, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire, Jermaine O’Neal, Shawn Marion, Tony Parker, Paul Pierce, Chris Paul and Wallace.
