The county of Santa Clara is hosting a domestic violence information and resources workshop for members of the lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender/transsexual and queer and questioning community on Aug. 12.

Representatives from county agencies and community-based organizations will be on hand to discuss domestic violence issues and resources.

The workshop is aimed at professionals, advocates, attorneys, social workers, probation officers, therapists, medical care and other service providers working with clients who have experienced intimate partner or domestic violence in same sex or transgender relationships.

In addition to a question and answer session, there will be discussions on law enforcement response, how to navigate the system and obtain legal assistance and services for domestic violence victims.

The workshop also includes a resource fair.

The workshop takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center, 938 The Alameda.

Registration is not necessary, and refreshments will be served.
