Amber Heard claims that Johnny Depp is trying to get a hefty tax deduction out of their divorce settlement by directly donating the full amount — $7 million — to a charity of her choice.

In this way, he’s not honoring the terms of their settlement as he would receive a charitable tax donation of approximately half that amount, her representatives told TMZ.

“If Johnny wishes to change the settlement agreement, we must insist that he honor the full amount by donating $14 million to charity, which after accounting for his tax deduction, is equal to his $7 million payment obligation to Amber,” Heard’s representatives told TMZ.

Heard’s complaints show that there’s still bad blood between the pair, despite their decision earlier this month to settle their divorce as quickly and quietly as possible. Their breakup, after 15 months together, had become intensely nasty and public with her side accusing him of domestic violence and his side accusing her of being a fame-hungry gold digger.

Depp agreed to pay Heard $7 million, which she announced she would donate to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Her announcement was certainly a way to prove she had never been in the relationship for the money.

But on Wednesday, Depp sent that amount directly to the organizations of Heard’s choice. According to Depp’s people, he did so in an effort to honor his soon-to-be ex-wife’s wishes:

“Following Amber Heard’s announcement that her divorce settlement was to be divided equally and gifted to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union, two exceptionally deserving and important charities, Johnny Depp has sent the first of multiple installments of those moneys to each charity in the name of Amber Heard, which when completed will honor the full amount of Ms. Heard’s pledge,” his representatives said.
