OAKLAND — A man was arrested after leading a brief high-speed chase on the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge late Monday, the California Highway Patrol said.

At 9:47 p.m., an officer tried to stop a black BMW in eastbound Interstate 80 traffic on the bridge, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said.

The BMW would not yield, and continued east in traffic at high speed until it hit another vehicle, Cistaro said.

After the crash, the BMW’s driver ran away but was soon taken into custody. At least one person suffered minor injuries, but it was not clear if the driver or another person was hurt.

All lanes reopened on the bridge at 10:02 p.m..
