The light show that uses a historic courthouse as an art canvas is back for another season.

Magic Lantern, a 3-D show designed by artist Bart Kresa, will be presented on Tuesday evenings after the sun goes down, from May through November (except May 22,and depending on weather).

The images are projected onto the San Mateo County Courthouse in downtown Redwood City, and attendees are welcome to set up chairs in Courthouse Square to watch.

The free 15-minute show is sponsored by the Redwood City Improvement Association.

Showtimes will be 8:30  p.m. through June 19, then 9 p.m. through Aug. 7, then 8:30 p.m. until sunsets change the start time again.

Themes will include Redwood City at 150, featuring a time-traveling robot honoring Redwood City’s history; Sea-ing is Believing, a water-inspired light show with ocean creatures; the Springtime Show, with seasonal scenes; and Dia de Los Muertos, for Halloween season.
