The unbeaten Stanford women’s tennis is no longer ranked No. 1 in the nation, thanks to the strength of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Florida overtook the Cardinal in the Campbell/ITA Rankings released Tuesday, one week after losing to Stanford 4-2.

This is the point in the season when the rankings switch from a poll to a computer point-per-match formula. Florida has posted five top-12 victories, all over ACC opponents, including three wins over top-five competition. Stanford, meanwhile, has picked up more top-20 wins than Florida with six but only has two wins over teams in the top 12.

Stanford’s Hilary Barte remains the No. 1-ranked player. Cal’s Jana Juricova ranks third. Barte and doubles Mallory Burdette are ranked No. 2

The Cardinal men’s team is ranked 10th. Bradley Klahn of Stanford is ranked 8th individually.

The women’s team hosts San Francisco at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The men host the Pacific Coast Doubles tournament all day Friday.
