Lloyd Daniels, a onetime New York playground basketball star, is the subject of a new Kickstarter documentary on which Knicks’ All-Star Carmelo Anthony is an executive producer.

“The Legend of Swee’ Pea” debuted Tuesday in New York and sketches out the story of Daniels’ career, which at one point was derailed by drug addiction and violence. A 6-foot-7 shooting guard, Daniels went through drug rehab three times early in his career.

Daniels wound up playing seven years in the NBA with remnants of bullets still in his body. He went on to play 20 years as a pro, playing in other American and international leagues when his time in the NBA was done.
