SAN MATEO — CafePress, the online marketplace for personalized T-shirts, sports gear and gifts, has revamped its website to let shoppers add custom-made designs to almost any product they want.

The 14-year-old company unveiled on Thursday a new platform that enables designers to submit a graphic, drawing or logo and have it printed onto dozens or hundreds of the 500 million products on the CafePress website. The new platform gives artists and designers more opportunity to show and sell their work, and shoppers can order more customized products, whether they want a water bottle or iPhone case.

The online retailer also launched new social networking features so shoppers can tweet their favorite designs and artists can share new designs on Facebook. CafePress President Sumant Sridharan said the company is also preparing to roll out a mobile app in the next six months.
