SAP, the world’s largest maker of business software, admitted in court records that employees at an American subsidiary made “certain downloads” that may have exceeded the their rights of access.

The filings came Monday in response to allegations by the company’s rival, Redwood Shores-based Oracle, that SAP had conducted “corporate theft on a grand scale.”

SAP spokesman Steve Bauer said the suit, which was filed in March, has more than 150 allegations and that the company is challenging many of them.

SAP’s filing states that the inappropriate actions by the subsidiary were not corporate theft and did not influence SAP’s American and international operations.
