When she spoke with us earlier this year, Google s diversity chief, Nancy Lee, warned that Google s second annual publication of its workplace diversity statistics wouldn t be much better than last year s.

When we publish numbers again (probably in June), I would anticipate no one s going to be wowed, Lee had said in February. It s going to take a deep and sustained commitment, which we re absolutely committed to, to see real meaningful change.

Sure enough, the numbers Google released on Monday show that Google s workforce is still mostly male and white. Seventy percent of Googlers are men, the same ratio as last year, and 60 percent are white, according to the report. Looking just at workers with tech-related jobs, 82 percent were men and 59 percent were white.

Expect more Silicon Valley tech firms to update their own numbers in the next few weeks.
