(Mars is a) fixer-upper of a planet.

Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO, talks about his goal of getting to — and perhaps settling in — Mars to Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report after Colbert expresses doubt about how feasible it is. Musk has expressed an interest in trips to Mars for a while, so while the planet may be a fixer-upper, he has high hopes for it. Musk, who of course also is CEO of electric-vehicle maker Tesla, said a new version of Tesla software will allow owners to name their cars; talked about opening up Tesla patents; mentioned electric-powered planes; and more.

Speaking of Musk s space ambitions, a federal judge is going to review a space-launch government contract awarded without competition to a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed after SpaceX filed a lawsuit.

Below is the video of Musk talking Mars.
