$20 million set aside
to target Latino voters
Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee are setting aside $20 million to target and mobilize Latino voters in the presidential election, the Obama campaign said Tuesday.
The campaign plans to spread the money in all 50 states but will emphasize efforts in swing states such as Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Florida, campaign officials said.

After upsetting some conservatives by signaling an openness to higher payroll taxes for Social Security, Republican John McCain gave the simplest of answers Tuesday when asked if he would raise taxes as president.
“No,” McCain said sternly when the question was put to him by a voter at a meeting in Sparks.
