Fresh off a couple more Emmy wins, including the second straight for Jeffrey Tambor, “Transparent” returns to Amazon Prime today with its third season.

The critically lauded, heartfelt dramedy delivers 10 fresh episodes that, as usual, have the various members of the Pfefferman family experiencing their own colorful and offbeat journeys of self-discovery.

At the center of it all is Maura (Tambor), who, despite establishing a romantic relationship with Vicki (Anjelica Huston) and earning acceptance from her family, still is yearning for something more.

“I’ve got everything I need, so why am I so unhappy?” she says in a melancholy opening episode.

As the season unfolds, Maura will contemplate gender confirmation surgery, something that puts her at odds with Vicki and others. Also coming this season: A big family cruise to Mexico and a cameo appearance by Caitlyn Jenner.
