Silicon Image, the designer of semiconductors for TVs, was accused of trying to shut out rival Analogix Semiconductor from an industry standard for high-definition transmissions. Closely held Analogix sued, saying that Silicon Image is misusing units that license patents and test equipment to ensure it complies with a standard used in TVs, DVD players and set-top boxes, according to a complaint filed June 11 in federal court in San Jose. Silicon Image is using the division to delay the release of rival products, Santa Clara-based Analogix said in the complaint. Sunnyvale-based Silicon Image said the lawsuit is payback for a complaint it filed, accusing Analogix of stealing Silicon Image’s trade secrets. That case is scheduled for trial in September.
