They were married on an island in the Bahamas, swimming with their guests to an offshore sandbar for the ceremonies, we wrote in 2007.

Their smarts and athleticism earned them the nickname the twins.

But now, as has long been expected, Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki are officially divorced, reports Business Insider.

The divorce was finalized in May, according to court documents.

The two were more than a Silicon Valley power couple; they created new industries. Wojcicki is the founder of 23andMe, a personal genetics research business based in Mountain View. Brin, of course, is the co-founder of Google.

They had two children, and together took on projects to revitalize downtown Los Altos, the Mercury News reported.  They started the Brin Wojcicki Foundation, which is worth more than $1 billion, according to Inside Philanthropy. (The foundation has no website, and few details are public of the grants made).

In 2013, Brin reportedly had an affair with a co-worker who was on the Google Glass project.

The couple separated. Soon after, Wojcicki hosted a freedom party on Alcatraz Island. They have dated other people, but live close to each other to raise their children, Business Insider said, quoting a source.
