San Jose will open another library Saturday morning, capping off two years of construction.

The 14,000-square-foot Pearl Avenue Branch Library is more than double the size of the original. The facility will include a living room with fireplace, an Internet cafe and technology center, and a community room big enough for 50 people.

The new library also will have 28 computers and 63 seats for people with laptops.

The dedication at 11 a.m. at 4270 Pearl Avenue will be followed by a day of activities, including story time and face-painting.

The library is one of about 20 new city branches completed, under construction or in the design stage. They are being paid for by a $212 million bond measure voters approved in 2000.
