Four possible choices for the 49ers with the No. 29 pick in today’s NFL draft:

JEROD MAYO

Position: Outside

linebacker.

School: Tennessee.

Comment: Offers several traits that appeal to the 49ers, such as an SEC background and the versatility to play in the 3-4 or the 4-3.

LIMAS SWEED

Position: Wide receiver.

School: Texas.

Comment: A lingering left-wrist injury curtailed his production, but his terrific frame and fluid stride have drawn comparisons to the Texans’ Andre Johnson.

QUENTIN GROVES

Position: Outside

linebacker.

School: Auburn.

Comment: Ran a 4.53 in the 40 at the scouting combine to boost his stock and earn comparisons to the Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware.

LAWRENCE JACKSON

Position: Defensive end.

School: USC.

Comment: Played well at the Senior Bowl, where Mike Nolan coached. A vocal leader and a student of the game.
