CONCORD — Round 1 is scheduled to open at Sunvalley mall at the end of August.

The Japanese entertainment chain is taking over the 52,000-square-foot former Sports Authority space on the mall’s lower level near JCPenney and the new food court.

The Concord location will have 11 bowling alleys, six tournament billiard tables and darts. Four private karaoke lounges will offer a selection of 50,000 to 70,000 songs in English, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. The 18,000-square-foot arcade will hold a wide selection of domestic and international games, including some that aren’t available elsewhere in the state, according to the company.

Round 1 also will serve appetizers, pizza, burgers, soft drinks, beer and wine in a 65-seat dining area.

Round 1 operates more than 100 locations in Japan, and has opened a dozen in the United States in Washington, Massachusetts, Texas, Illinois and California, including one at Eastridge Mall in San Jose.
