Superhero fans can strut with swagger and dress the part with their favorite swords, shields and suits of armor during a pair of Marvel-themed after-hours events coming to Disney’s California Adventure.
The Disneyland After Dark: Heroes Assemble late night events will take place on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1 at the California Adventure theme park in Anaheim. The separate admission special event costs $109 per person per night. The after-hours festivities run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with park mix-in permitted starting at 6 p.m.
Heroes Assemble will feature Marvel character meet-and-greet photo ops, a superhero dance party, a world-saving scavenger hunt and themed food and merchandise. Select rides and attractions will be open during the super hero party, including the Guardians of the Galaxy indoor drop tower.
The after-hours events are one of the few times of the year that older children and adults can wear costumes in the park.
Expect to find Disney’s famous mouse duo among the costumed fans at Heroes Assemble with Minnie in a pink Spider-Woman cosplay outfit and Mickey sporting red, white and blue Captain America attire.
The Marvel characters at Heroes Assemble are expected to include Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Loki, Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Doctor Strange.
Taking photos with the Marvel characters and posing for group shots in front of themed backdrops crying out to be snapped, grammed and tweeted are big part of the evening. Disney will offer limited-time Snapchat filters during Heroes Assemble. The cost of admission includes unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the event.
A Super Fan Costume Cavalcade through the park ends each night with a massive group photo of costumed visitors.
Solve the park-wide scavenger hunt for artifacts hidden throughout California Adventure and you can save mankind — at least for one evening.
Visitors can purchase hero-themed churros, Infinity Gauntlet sipper cups and other exclusive food and merchandise during the event.
