It’s December 2017, “Star Wars” mania is in full force and this really happened: Luke Skywalker slammed FCC Chairman Ajit Pai on Twitter.

It was actually Mark Hamill, the actor who plays Luke Skywalker, who deemed Pai “profoundly unworthy” to wield a lightsaber.

In a recent video, Pai, armed with a lightsaber and other pop culture paraphernalia, attempted to soothe the fears of internet users who have been up in arms over his plan to kill net neutrality rules. People can still do the stuff they like to do on the net, Pai said. (Critics say ISPs could jack up prices, discriminate against content and more, though.)

Hamill hated it.

Last week, the Federal Communications Commission voted 3 to 2 to repeal net neutrality rules approved in 2015. The rules prohibit internet service providers from discriminating against certain online traffic, and banned them from establishing fast and slow lanes. Lawmakers, tech companies, consumers, consumer advocacy groups and others opposed the move, and are gearing up for a fight.

Those who agree with the FCC vote are broadband providers — and lawmakers such as Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who came to Pai’s defense on Twitter after Hamill’s saber-shaming.
