RICHMOND — A leak in a skylight during the rainstorm Wednesday afternoon caused the postponement of a girls basketball game at De Anza High School’s new campus scheduled for that evening.

The leak was discovered at about 1 p.m., causing school officials to cancel the game against Tennyson High School of Hayward, which is being rescheduled, according to De Anza assistant principal Shaun Hurtado.

The new De Anza campus opened this school year, and the lead contractor on the project, Santa Rosa-based Wright Contracting, is repairing the leak, said West Contra Costa district trustee Charles Ramsey.

“Wright is still under contract, and the school is still under warranty,” he said.

Wright is also the contractor for an upcoming project to rebuild the El Cerrito High School football stadium, Ramsey said.
