The release of the Forbes billionaires list is the Oracle chief executive’s yearly reminder that he’s not the alpha dog of the software industry – despite his best efforts. (Buy PeopleSoft? Check. Buy Siebel Systems? Check. Buy Hyperion Solutions? Working on it.) On Forbes’ list, Ellison is No.11 with $21.5 billion. We feel for him, but if it’s any consolation, he’s still wealthier than either of those Google guys (Sergey Brin and Larry Page, at $16.6 billion each).
