SAN RAMON — A three-car accident at Alcosta Boulevard shut down all four lanes of southbound Interstate 680 for about a half hour Saturday night.
The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. in the No. 2 lane, involving a 1965 Ford Mustang, 2000 Honda Civic and a Toyota Camry. The Mustang overturned and was fully engulfed in flames.
The two women in the mustang sustained minor injuries with one possibly being ejected from the vehicle. Both were taken to ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton, said CHP officer Steve Creel.
All lanes of traffic were reopened just after 8:30 p.m. Police are investigating the accident.
