Hewlett-Packard announced today that Executive Vice President Bill Veghte will be leaving the company.
Veghte, who had previously been the company s chief operating officer, has been leading the preparations for HP s upcoming split between its printing services and corporate technology enterprise. Veghte, a former Microsoft executive, played a large role in the launch of Windows 7 before joining HP in 2010 as chief strategy officer and VP. Veghte will leave in the summer to pursue a new opportunity. His departure follows that of Dave Donatelli, who Veghte replaced last year.
From the moment he arrived at HP, Bill has made a huge difference, said HP CEO Meg Whitman in the official announcement. He brings energy, insight, and leadership to everything he does. I am grateful for all he did to help me lead HP through the turnaround and into the separation.
Antonio Neri will take the role of VP and General Manager, and Chris Hsu will continue the separation efforts and assume the role of COO.
