Next-generation cyber security firm FireEye and tech giant Hewlett Packard announced a partnership Tuesday to develop an advanced suite of network threat detection and analysis software.
The deal, which will expand Milpitas-based FireEye s reach, was announced at the RSA Conference on security which is being held this week in San Francisco.
The companies said they will develop an industry standard architecture for providing customers with a blueprint for threat protection.
HP s own security investigators can now draw on FireEye s technology and the investigative group from Mandiant, which FireEye acquired last year.
The deal will let HP Enterprise Services and FireEye offer global incident response from HP and Mandiant that will investigate cyber security events and compromise assessment, and managed advance threat protection services from HP and FireEye.
Mike Nefkens, vice president of HP Enterprise Services, said the partnership will strengthen HP s security portfolio. HP and FireEye are enabling our clients to update their defenses with the most advanced cyber security protection available today, he said.
FireEye has a proprietary real-time threat protection platform that it offers as a defense against today s sophisticated cyber attacks.
The company has 3,100 customers in 67 countries, and includes more than 200 of the Fortune 500 as customers
