A silent auction of “Fine Arfwork” wraps up this week with proceeds benefiting Los Gatos Unleashed.

The organization is behind a drive to bring an unleashed dog park to town. It sponsored the recent “Los Perros for a Day,” where the town of the cats went to the dogs.

Twenty dog sculptures are on display at businesses around town. People can bid to buy the sculptures, with bidding starting at $500. The silent auction is called “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window.”

Although the sculpture forms are identical, local artists have hand-painted them to give each a personal touch.

Los Gatos Unleashed says the purchase of a sculpture is 100 percent tax deductible. The Humane Society Silicon Valley will hold money raised from the auction in trust.

The merchants who are displaying the sculptures are Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company, Plush Boutique, Nuance, Los Gatos Gourmet, Bow Wowzer, Peabody Art Gallery, Los Gatos Framing Company, Gardino Fresco, Lark Avenue Car Wash, Bella Rosa, Bianco, Purple Onion Catering, La Esquina, Inner Journey, Salt, Wild Bird Center, Black Swan Boutique, Los Gatos Cafe, The Maids Quarters and Travese Restaurant.

The last opportunity to bid on the doggie statues will be June 5 at a 6:30 p.m. reception at Travese, 115 N. Santa Cruz Ave.
