SAN FRANCISCO — Fifteen people were arrested in the Bay Area today on suspicion of mortgage fraud, an FBI spokeswoman said.

The arrests were made early this morning in several cities throughout the region, FBI spokeswoman Patti Hansen said.

The suspects are scheduled to appear this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Bernard Zimmerman in San Francisco, Hansen said.

She said more information about the suspects and the charges they face will be available after their initial court appearance.
