For the four days in June that the Copa America Centenario soccer matches are taking place at Levi’s Stadium, the Santa Clara police will close streets and staff neighborhood checkpoints.

An estimated 65,000 people are expected for each of the matches, on June 3, June 6, June 13 and June 18. The first game starts at 6:30 p.m., the others at 7.

Heavy traffic is expected to start around 4 p.m. on nearby thoroughfares including highways 101 and 237.

Tasman Drive will be closed from Convention Center Drive to Centennial / Marie P DeBartolo Way starting at 9:30 a.m. on game days and remaining closed beyond the 9 p.m. conclusion of the event.

Parking lots will open at 1:30 p.m.

Complimentary bicycle valet service will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

To reduce traffic in residential neighborhoods, the Santa Clara Police Department will have checkpoints at the following intersections: Lafayette Street and Calle de Primavera; Bassett Street and Wyatt Drive; Agnew Road and Lafayette Street ; Agnew Road and Mission College Boulevard

The San Tomas Aquino / Saratoga Creek Trail will close at 12:30 p.m. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., it will be open to pedestrians and bicyclists who are carrying event tickets. Those without tickets will be rerouted onto streets and through parking lots to the northern segment of the trail.

As with all Levi’s Stadium events, backpacks and carriers are prohibited. The only bags allowed are clear one-gallon Ziploc-type bags and small clutch bags the size of a hand.
