CONCORD — A grease fire that spread quickly damaged an apartment and injured its tenant late Thursday night, a Contra Costa County fire spokesman said.
Shortly after 11:20 p.m., 16 firefighters began fighting the flames at an apartment building in the 1600 block of Laguna Street in downtown Concord, Fire Marshal Robert Marshall said.
They used four fire engines and a truck to control the blaze within 15 minutes and prevented it from spreading to other units, Marshall said.
The apartment had significant fire and smoke damage and was left uninhabitable, he said.
A resident suffered minor burn injuries, Marshall said.
No other injuries were reported.
