Coldwell Banker’s 15th annual “Homes and Hope” fundraising campaign benefiting Habitat for Humanity is under way, and the public is invited to participate by purchasing $2 raffle tickets. The raffle runs through Oct. 18.

Organizers hope to raise $356,000, with all donations earmarked for local Habitat chapters that will build homes in 2014. Money will also be raised through fundraisers held by individual Coldwell Banker offices throughout Northern California.

Locally, the real estate company has offices at 410 N. Santa Cruz Ave. in Los Gatos and at 12029 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road in Saratoga.

Habitat for Humanity is the nonprofit group launched by former President Jimmy Carter that builds homes for low-income people across the country.

“As real estate professionals, we’re all about helping others realize the American dream of home ownership,” Coldwell Banker president Rick Turley said in a news release. “But unfortunately, for many low income families in our community, this has become an impossible dream without the help of organizations like Habitat for Humanity.

“I’m very proud that Coldwell Banker agents, managers and staff continue to … give back to the communities we serve.”

Since the Habitat campaign began, the residential real estate company has donated more than $2.3 million to the nonprofit Habitat organization, with agents and employees volunteering approximately 48,000 hours to help construct 179 homes in Northern California.

In addition to the fundraising activities, agents, staff and volunteers will participate in Habitat construction projects over the next several weeks in San Francisco, Oakland, Milpitas, Walnut Creek, Santa Cruz, Cotati and Sacramento.

Raffle prizes include $5,000 donated by Princeton Capital, gift certificates and hotel stays. For a full list of raffle prizes or to donate, visit coldwellbankerhabitat.com or call 925.771.5285.
