Civic Arts Education’s Youth Theatre Company to present the third annual “By the Kids, For the Kids,” a student-produced and performed musical extravaganza Oct. 2 at the Civic Arts’ Shadelands Auditorium, 111 N. Wiget Lane.
Producers Morgan Mitchell of Concord and Gabe Blake of Walnut Creek, both 16, have each been involved with the program for several years as actors and backstage crew.
Mitchell said that student directors are choosing the songs and getting the individual production numbers into shape. Morgan and Gabe will each also direct The performers and directors range in age from 8 to 18.
Proceeds from the event, which begins at 5 p.m., will benefit the scholarship fund at Friends of Civic Arts Education and help the Monument Crisis Center provide emergency food, nutrition education and crisis services to low-income, at-risk families, senior and individuals.
