The new canopy of trees soars skyward, the curved-glass windows shimmer, and it’s move-in time at Apple Park.
Apple’s new 175-acre campus, a dream of co-founder Steve Jobs, is much more than office space for the world’s most valuable company: it’s a jaw-dropping piece of iconic architecture, visible from space, globally renowned, masterfully designed, and crouching like an exquisite beast in the shadows of Interstate 280.
Over the coming weeks and months, as many as 12,000 employees will drive, bus or bike to the campus for the very first time, scope out their workspaces, and then get back to the business of creating the kinds of gadgets and services that have already seduced several generations of Earthlings.
