Here are a list of several Bay Area events this weekend commemorating the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq:

Today in San Jose – 11:30 a.m. “Get Out of Iraq! Stay Out of Iran!” march and rally, at Santana Park at Tisch and Monroe streets, hosted by South Bay Mobilization www.southbaymobilization.org or call (408) 998-8504.

Today in Palo Alto – Noon. “Out of Iraq Now!” Peninsula Peace and Justice Center will meet at Palo Alto City Hall Plaza, 250 Hamilton Ave., www.PeaceandJustice.org or call (650) 326-8837.

Sunday in San Francisco – Noon. “Stop Funding the War in Iraq” rally will be held in front of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district office at 450 Golden Gate Ave. to urge Congress to support HR 508, The Bring Our Troops Home and Sovereignty of Iraq Restoration Act. At the same time, there will be an ANSWER march starting at Justin Herman Plaza.

Monday in San Francisco – Noon. Declaration of Peace will stage “die-ins” at the Federal Reserve Building at Spear and Market streets, at Montgomery and Market streets, at Powell and Market streets, and at the U.N. Plaza.

Monday in Fremont – 6:30 p.m. Candlelight vigil in Fremont at Paseo Padre Parkway and Walnut Avenue sponsored by Move On.

Monday in Lafayette – 7:30 p.m. “These Colors Don’t Run” pro-troop rally to be held by the row of crosses on the hill in Lafayette near the BART station off Deerhill Road, click on www.nevereverforget911.
