The Wall Street Journal and All Things D, the technology website led by Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, are parting ways at the end of the year.
Gerard Baker, the Journal’s managing editor, made the announcement Thursday, saying both parties decided not to renew the agreement when the current contract expires. Mossberg, who has provided technology reviews for the Journal for more than 20 years, is also leaving the newspaper.
The Journal, which is owned by News Corp., says it plans a global expansion of its technology coverage, adding 20 reviewers, bloggers, visual journalists, editors and reporters. It also plans to build its own technology news website and host an international technology conference.
