NEW YORK (AP) — Two Advanced Micro Devices executives are leaving the company, the Sunnyvale chipmaker announced Tuesday.

Robert J Rivet, executive vice president and chief operations and administrative officer, and Marty Seyer, senior vice president of corporate strategy, are stepping down to pursue other opportunities.

Both executives will remain with the company for an unspecified period to ensure a smooth transition. The company announced Rivet’s departure in a regulatory filing and confirmed Seyer’s in an e-mail Wednesday.

Rivet will be succeeded by John Docherty, senior vice president of manufacturing operations, said AMD spokesman Michael Silverman. Though Docherty will assume Rivet’s responsibilities, his title will remain unchanged.

Meyer’s successor has not been announced. The rest of the corporate strategy team will report to AMD’s president, general counsel and secretary, Harry Wolin. Rivet has been with the company since 2000, when he was hired as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

AMD hired Seyer in 2002 to lead its server business.

Last month, the board of directors forced out CEO Dirk Meyer in a surprise move.

In a statement at the time, the board’s chairman, Bruce Claflin, acknowledged that Meyer took the helm at a difficult time and “successfully stabilized” the company. The board, however, felt Meyer wasn’t the right person to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

AMD’s chief financial officer, Thomas Seifert, continues to serve as interim CEO, though he has asked not to be considered for the permanent position.
