Google Talk unleashes file transfers, vmail & music status
File Transfer --This lets you send unlimited files and folders to your friends through Google Talk (see image). You can send a photo, and it will insert a preview of the image in your chat session. And it's pretty easy. You just click the "send files" button, browse to file to send, then hit ok. The person on the other end hits "accept" and its done.
Voicemail -- You can send it via Google Talk, and the other person will get it via email with a message attached as an audio file.
Music Status -- If you're listening to music while on Google Talk, you can let your friends see what you're listening to by selecting "show current music track" in your status menu (see second image).

I think Google needs to focus on not alienating Mac and Linux users.
When they release products, they should be doing for all platforms from the get-go.
This staggered-release method of pollinating the various platforms really is leaving a number of people feeling out of the loop and with a sour taste in their mouths.
I can understand not readily releasing software for Linux, as it tends to get a bit messy, but Mac is a great platform to develop for.
Wuddaya say?

This fits perfectly into Google's mission, to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.
No, not really, they're just trying to make things more sticky so someone else can't sneak up with a better search format system and steal their users. Wait, this sounds like Yahoo.

"I think Google needs to focus on not alienating Mac and Linux users."
With all due respect, the share of Mac and *nix communites is so neglegible, Google doesn't have to worry about them at all.
And, by the way, the first link in the article is broken: there is an extra "http//" after the prefix there.
