Stylehive raises more than $2 million for stylish shopping site

Stylehive.png
StyleHive, the Tiburon start-up launched in April to provide another online bookmarking service, has raised $2.62 million, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

There is a lot of competition in this online bookmarking area, from Kaboodle to Plum. They all work in a similar way. As you surf the Web, you can bookmark pages, and specify certain information you want pulled from the pages. StyleHive, like its name suggests, is going after a particular niche: Visually powerful images. It pulls out images from the Web pages you like.

In this way, it is similar to the "browse" shopping strategy pursued by Silicon Valley start-up Whatsbuzzing, although Stylehive is even more focused on nice images. It also relies heavily on the "tagging" concept. A good example is this page tagged "womens". If you spend time around women, and note how many of them love to flip the pages of Vogue or shopping catalogues gawking at the lovely pictures, you will get this site.

I think all these sites have something to offer, but I'm curious about copyright issues. Anyone know if any of these sites have gotten flak from the sites from which their users are pulling images, pricing info. etc. and creating new Stylehive-branded pages with their content?
