Myspace takes No. 1 spot; a group of four followers
Here is a graphic (click to enlarge) of MySpace's traffic growth over time (see the yellow line), compared to Photobucket (green line), YouTube (blue), FaceBook (purple ), and Six Apart (red line).
It comes from a post by venture capitalist Fred Wilson (read his post here), who gets his data from June's Comscore Media Metrix numbers.
MySpace is now the number one site in the U.S. in market share of visits, exceeding Yahoo Mail for the first time.
It shows a general slowdown during the summer (somewhat expected because people get out from behind their computers and go do things). But it also suggests that MySpace continues to grow, while the second tier of big social sites are bunched in the 10mm to 15mm user range. And as Fred notes, Six Apart and Facebook have been relatively flat for the past year.
