Does an open source company need to be in Silicon Valley?

Open source is not limited to any particular region as such, there is Ubuntu happening in Africa, Apache web services happening in Sri Lanka, Alfresco & various others in Europe and lot in Asia/SE Asia, and also USA.

Open source is about participating being anywhere ...success of Apache, JBoss demonstrate that.
So for open source, location is not a criteria at all.
