Rapleaf, the e-commerce reputation manager, raises ~$1M to take on eBay
Updated
The round, just south of a million dollars, was led by Peter Thiel, the former chief executive of PayPal, and an angel investor in companies like Facebook and LiveOps. Others include Eric Di Benedetto, former Google employee Aydin Senkut, the French Web 2.0 financier Jeff Clavier and Ron Conway.
Rapleaf is about a month old and has only three guys working for it (though it is looking to hire software engineers). It is focusing on making its product secure from fraud, and we're told it will start a marketing push next month. It is run by Auren Hoffman, the Silicon Valley networker.
(Update 8/7/06: PE Week reports on a regulatory filing confirming RapLeaf got $670,000 of a planned $1.2 million total first round.
