Funtigo, a San Francisco-based photo sharing start-up (aren't they all in SF?), has raised $2.76 million in Series A funding, according to a regulatory filing reported on by PE Week (scroll down). Backers include Sierra Ventures and Catamount Ventures. Stop the presses! This photo sharing is such a novel idea. There are absolutely no competitors (UPDATE: Indeed, this story was too good to be true. Now, it seems, Funtigo might be exiting the photo-sharing game? See notes in this post).

SimplyHired, the Mountain View online job site start-up, has raised $8 million from Foundation Capital, according to Om Malik. However, our sources suggest the deal hasn't quite closed yet -- that there are "a few additional items in the works." If all goes as planned, likely to be announced by Jan.
