Telsima raises money for WiMAX

Telsima, of Santa Clara, is the latest company to raise more venture capital to pursue a WiMAX strategy.

WiMAX networks allow high-speed, wireless Internet connections over long distances.

Telsima has just raised $20 million. This is notable because just a year and half ago, one of Telsima's backers, NewPath Ventures, told us Telsima was focused on a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) product mainly to the Indian market.

In the 4th quarter of last year, Telsima reported it had raised $24.7 million from Intel Capital.

Surprising! No news of Google/Opera affair yet on SB. Also, what about Experian's PriceGrabber grab?

One of the founder is a Ex-PBC guy with cable market exposure of 2000, On Telsima they are still in Product and Market discovery phase,
This happens when VC's are too drunk and think you are there golden boy as you were successful in the past (Y2k, this is the issue with people who call themselves as Mother of Pentium chipset (OOp's) .
Today WiMax is flavor of the month, sometimes like in Y2k one gets lucky with flavor of month. Now it has remote possbilities of success, as you see last Indian market was the flavor, now it is WiMAX thats all.
