Online travel space heats up

Good summary in BizJournal of the recent fundings of online travel companies, including local startup Viator, which has moved its hq to Silicon Valley from Australia (we talked to these folks, and they are less gee-wizz Web 2.0 focused than several others), and San Francisco start-ups Snapjot, and TravelPost.

Another site that is in this space, but not mentioned in this article, is http://www.travbuddy.com. They offer a convenient and fun way to share travel experiences. Despite not having venture backing to spend on advertising, their site seems both easier to use, and has more members, than realtravel.
