Re-skinning Yahoo Maps

pirateMaps.jpg
There's been grumbling in some quarters about Yahoo's use of Flash (specifically the Flex platform) as the interface for its new maps beta. But Justin Everett-Church has demonstrated how you can use Flash to break away from the default look and feel of a Yahoo Map. He re-skinned two maps - one to look like a pirate map and the other to look like a radar screen. Unfortunately, the maps didn't seem to render completely right in our Mac/Firefox combo. But the potential for this is pretty intriguing.
