Slim Devices, a Silicon Valley co. we haven't mentioned before
Founded in early 2000, Slim Devices is a Mountain View company that today announced its "3rd generation" Squeezebox network music player. We don't know if it has venture backing, but it is privately held. Om likes it.

I've been using a Squeezebox for a while (since early 2004) and really like it. Originally it ran through the stereo but now, it's hooked up to a set of self powered speakers and the sound quality is great. My only complaint is entering the hex version of the network password is a bit clunky.
