Meebo, the Ajax-based IM
Mark Jen has the goods on the latest Web feature coming from three folks from Stanford. Tired of having those multiple buddy lists from different instant messenger services? Meebo integrates your accounts from AIM, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and ICQ into a single buddy list. See comments on Mark's site; responses are mixed, but then it's early. The product is only in alpha. (Via Om)

look at gaim - it is a freebie IM tool that integrates all of the same IM services into a common messenger, with most of the same features including group chats.

Gaim reguires download, not comparable. Meebo runs well for alpha stage. I will use always and gives these kids a chance.

Meebo Rocks, consistent performer...I've been using it since it was born.
Only thing requiring repair in Meebo is the time gap between your login attempt and real login.

This website is the best!! I live in the Philippines where not only SMS is the fad but also IMs. We use it everywhere! It is a great idea to integrate IM services and what I like best about it is that it doesn't require any downloads. When they fix some of the network issues about some people logging off after 5 mins (I know it happens to me sometimes), i'm pretty sure that it will rock!!
