Katrina relief

We'll keep our eyes and ears open for special efforts here in Silicon Valley to assist with disaster relief for the hurricane, but in meantime a donation to Red Cross would help.
Update 9/2: Here are some more possibilities. What is going on in New Orleans and the surrounding area is truly horrific. Lot of fingers being pointed, but one problem was lack of preparation for this sort of thing. It makes you wonder how ready we are here in California for the "big one."

Thousands of quilters are mobilized making quilts for shelters, hospitals, nursing homes and for when people begin to set up new households. We need more.

What happened in New Orleans is a tragedy and the people there do need help. But let's not forget the people of Florida who have not yet recovered from last years 4 hurricanes. They need as much help today as they did before Katrina. Don't send all the funds to New Orleans
