Today's new Google toy: Google Earth
Google this morning announced the release of Google Earth, the 3D satellite imagery software based on the technology it acquired when it bought Keyhole last year. A couple of things to note: The Keyhole web site is now gone, replaced with this Google page. And, as is Google's custom, the company released a free version of software that previously cost money. Whereas before there were two versions of Keyhole, a personal version that started at $29.95 and a pro version for $599, Google now has three offerings ranging from free to $400. Oh yeah, and (no surprise) it's in beta. Hurry along, now. Go play.
Update: Here's a description our first go.
