Nightmare on phone street
Who knows where Covad Communications will land after the inevitable voice over IP telephony shake out. But in the meantime, we're getting a kick out of the San Jose company's latest TV spot touting its enterprise and small business VoIP service. Conceived by GJP Advertising in San Francisco, the horror movie-themed ad (it's called "The Ringing") features a group of office workers that are terrorized by their current phone system. The 30-second spots just launched in San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C. and Chicago. But the full-length version can be seen here.
Now THAT's brilliant.
I can just imagine the terrified faces of the programming execs, standards & practices, & legal people at stations asked to run this, were it for broadcast. (But then, in a real phone takeover, they'd be the first to go).
